Opposites opposites opposites!

Today we focused on learning a few adjectives in English by introducing the concept of opposites.  We went through flashcards, then played a game of Simon says where the Children were required to do the opposite action of what was being requested.  This went well, and the kids enjoyed the new added challenge to a game they already knew.

After Simon says, we moved on to worksheets we had created for the class.  Although the boys were all eager to complete the worksheets and show us how well they had done, the age gap between the youngest and the oldest makes an activity like this difficult.  We had brought with us different levels of worksheets, but we found it difficult to maintain order once some had moved through all of the worksheets, and others required additional help.  What was encouraging was how determined they all were to get the answers correct.  Unusual for a children this age, we have yet to have a child give up in frustration, even when the material exceeds their level of understanding.

We brought an end to the worksheets, and gathered the group for a few farewell games before leaving.  We have promised to show a movie on Sunday after several requests to do so.
