Another afternoon session with the Seva Bharti Orphanage a success! We re-used much of the same lesson plan we had from the Kaylehli Orphanage, as it has been well received there. The only addition we made was the use of a map of a fictional town, which they used to explain directions from one place to another. This was a good practical exercise, as hopefully the children will now be able to give and receive basic direction. Today the children were much livelier. They are starting to open up to us a bit more which is fantastic. Once again the kids really enjoyed the exercise involving two blindfolded children and teams directing them. The children at Seva Bharti move through our lessons at a faster pace than at Kaylehli as there are fewer children and they are a bit older. We will continue to work on conversational English, however after speaking with the head of the orphanage, we have been instructed that enjoyment and games should be our focus; no problem! As the kids spend 6 days a week in school, they would like our sessions to be mostly fun.
